ADAC Test Center Penzing: A day full of mobility and family fun!

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, there was a lot on offer for young and old at the ADAC Mobility Test Center in Penzing. The popular open day attracted families, residents and even numerous politicians, who used the event atmosphere to celebrate the ADAC's ties to the region. Admission was free and parking was plentiful, which helped keep people turning out in large numbers.

The high number of visitors was particularly impressive, underlining the appreciation for the ADAC's commitment. The board showed Dr. Dieter Nirschl spoke in his opening speech about the importance of the region's visibility in future issues. “The technology center in Landsberg am Lech and the mobility test center here in Penzing are not just projects, they are pioneers for innovative mobility,” he emphasized. Mayor Peter Hammer emphasized that the ADAC has been a reliable partner in the region for ten years. Augsburger Allgemeine reports that Hammer also held out the prospect of increased cooperation, especially after acquiring the site.

A colorful range of activities for the whole family

The varied program left nothing to be desired. From a bicycle course to breakdown assistance demonstrations to an exciting scavenger hunt competition for the children, there was something for everyone. The ADAC cover band “The Yellow Tones” created a good atmosphere with live music between 2 and 5:30 p.m. Additional highlights were the performances by Munich's last street magician Romagie and the demonstration of a roof accident followed by fire brigade intervention.

Numerous advisory services were also part of the program. Participants were able to find out about topics such as electric vehicles, camping and even the latest trends in motorsport. A highlight was the rollover simulator, which provided important education about road safety. Children were able to experience the exciting e-kart course or admire the beauty of an ADAC vintage bus. The ADAC emphasizes that the test center has been in operation since 2022 and aims to act as a leading innovation location for consumer protection and mobility.

Commitment to the future of mobility

The importance of the ADAC for the region and its 25-year presence in consumer protection were also highlighted by Landsberg's mayor Doris Baumgartl. She emphasized that mobility represents a common challenge for everyone and is an area in which the ADAC is not only innovative but also sets the strategic direction. “We need places like these that help us shape the mobility of the future,” says Baumgartl. Bundestag member Michael Kießling also spoke positively about the need for a strong mobility presence in federal politics and the outstanding role of the ADAC in this.

A clear message was conveyed on this open day: The ADAC is not just an automobile club, but a pioneer that is leading the Penzing region into the future of mobility. The continuous exchange with educational institutions and the focus on innovative technologies show that the ADAC has a good hand for the challenges of the time. Merkur suggests that the expansion of the test center from 2026 will further revitalize the innovation location.
