Big honor in the 23rd district: The winners of the District Business Awards 2025!
In the ballroom of the Liesing office building on October 16, 2025, the atmosphere became really festive. The readers of the Vienna district newspaper came together to celebrate the winners of the District Business Awards and District Medical Awards in the 23rd District. Over 125,000 votes were cast, making this public election the largest of its kind in Vienna. Karin Stepanek from the Wiener Bezirksblatt highlighted the impressive reader participation and the reach of the medium. District head Gerald Bischof proudly welcomed the guests and award winners and recalled the long-standing tradition of these awards.
This event is not only a celebration for the winners, but also an excellent showcase for the diversity and quality of local businesses. The event was supported by renowned partners such as the Volksbank and the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.
Not just old friends among the award winners
This year there was an exciting innovation: the barrier-free award was presented, and the winner in this category is Faber GmbH. The District Medical Awards were about the best medical institutions, all of which emerged as winners, such as Zahn23, the practice of internist Dr. Gernot Schlosser and the laboratory of Dr. Claudia Vidotto.
The District Business Awards were presented in three categories: small businesses, medium-sized businesses and large businesses. The winners in these categories are:
- Kleinbetriebe: Gesundheitsengl (ehemals Shape Studio), gefolgt von GenussSpiegel KG und Tanzschule Pokorny.
- Mittelbetriebe: Spielwaren Heinz, Silber ging an die FLAIR Unternehmensgruppe und Bronze an die Fahrschule Liesing.
- Großbetriebe: ÖGUSSA, gefolgt von Wiesbauer und der Traditionsbäckerei “Der Mann”.
A look at the economy in the district
The importance of the local economy in the 23rd district cannot be underestimated. The Austrian economic atlas provides the structural and performance-related data of the Austrian economy as a whole. The evening was accompanied by W24, who presented moving images of the event and thus captured this celebratory setting in an impressive way. It remains to be seen what surprises the next edition of the District Business Awards will have in store, but one thing is certain: the community in the 23rd district is showing what it can do and is celebrating these achievements in style.
