Dog zone on the liver path: drinking fountain and dog kotackerl planned!

In the district of Simmering, work is currently being worked on the concerns of the dog -friendly population. During the last district council of representation, a resolution of the SPÖ was impressively accepted to convict the stream of rainbow flags in the 11th district, but against it with a lonely voice of the FPÖ. This shows once again that local concerns in Vienna can certainly generate polarity. But not only the flags ensure the subject of conversation, but also the well -being of our four -legged friends is very popular.

Especially in the dog zone on the Leberweg there is currently a lot to discuss. Here an application for the construction of a drinking fountain was brought in, but was postponed to the environmental committee. An existing drinking fountain stands at a distance of about a hundred meters between a playground and a sports facility, which can result in conflicts between dogs, children and athletes. This concern is particularly discussed in view of the upcoming trial on July 15th.

Security and equipment in dog zones

The dog zones in Vienna are a central topic for many dog owners. According to Bezirksjournal , dog zones offer an indispensable way to breastfeed the dog's urge to move. Here the four -legged friends can romp around in fenced areas without a muzzle - a welcome break for everyone involved.

Several aspects are crucial for the ideal design of a dog zone: the offer should include enough space, safe fencing, shady retreat and of course also water dispensers in order to take into account the needs of the dogs. The proven rules also include that dog owners have to pay attention to their animals to remove their animals immediately and to lead list dogs on a leash. A behavioral code is easy to see in most zones.

  • recommended dog zones:
  • Waldmüllerpark in favorites - largest fenced area with over 5,000 square meters
  • Luise Montag-Park in Simmering-the largest in the district with over 4,000 square meters
  • Gaulgasse in Liesing - surprised with 6,500 square meters, but without drinking well
  • New dog zone in Atzgersdorf with about 400 square meters

How important these facilities are is also shown in the feedback from the residents: inside, which has recently criticized an inadequate lighting situation in the park on the liver path. There is a definitive need for action here, especially for security in winter.

Overall, the last session shows that the topics of citizen participation and the needs of our four -legged friends are taken seriously and that there are progress on the way to better equipment in the dog zones. The interaction of all factions - apart from the FPÖ - gives hope that the next meeting on July 15th will lead to positive results.
