On Sunday afternoon, an alarming incident occurred in Vienna-Floridsdorf that brought the police to the scene. A caller reported a bomb threat by telephone against a supermarket branch on Franz-Jonas-Platz. How courier reported that the caller announced that he would blow up the supermarket. He even mentioned his own name during the conversation.
The officers from the Kummergasse and Ziegelofenweg police stations reacted quickly. Only a short time later they were able to arrest the 36-year-old Austrian citizen. However, a search did not reveal any hazardous materials. During questioning, the man finally confessed to the threat and explained that the supermarket chain in question “annoyed” him. However, he was released on the orders of the public prosecutor.
