Camp highlight: Adventure trip with the Orient Express in Bissingen!
93 children and young people recently experienced an exciting adventure at the tent camp of the Wasserwacht local group in Lauingen, which had the fascinating motto “Travel on the Orient Express”. This camp took place for a whole week at the picturesque Reimertshof near Bissingen and offered the participants a variety of exciting activities.
The young explorers could look forward to a silent night hike, took part in games and craft activities and enjoyed convivial campfire evenings. A traditional scary hike and a rousing camp disco on Friday evening rounded off the diverse program. The children particularly fondly remember the last evening, when they received their own tie-dyed T-shirts and celebrated the farewell disco. “The laughter of the children and the solidarity in the group were priceless,” notes camp manager Alexander Bayer proudly.
A look back at 30 years of tradition
The Lauingen water rescue camp has a long tradition, as children have been able to take part in this adventurous week in nature every year since 1994. The topics and experiences vary, but the basis always remains the same: fun, community and unforgettable memories. This year, enthusiastic participants actually describe the journey on the Orient Express as “a dream on rails”. They set off to mysterious cities, countries and continents, which awakened the spirit of adventure and stimulated the imagination.
The delicious menu was in keeping with the motto and, in addition to classic children's dishes, also included culinary delicacies reminiscent of the journey on the Orient Express, from spaghetti to currywurst with potato wedges. The kitchen team did a great job and provided varied and atmospheric meals.
Preview of the 2026 camp
Looking to the future: The next camp is already planned! The dates have already been set for the period from August 9th to 15th, 2026. Interested families can look forward to information and flyers that will be available soon. The last camps were captured with many pictures that show the most beautiful moments and build anticipation for the next event.
The organizers are always available to answer any further questions or suggestions. The working group on ecological children's and youth leisure activities, which makes such adventures possible, is also active in Germany and Europe and offers various children's leisure activities with a special focus on ecological values. The offers are organized on a grassroots democratic basis, are non-commercial and are aimed at all interested children and young people, without any obligation to become a member. The support of the BUNDjugend BW and the BDP BaWü, which are committed to promoting such leisure activities, is particularly appreciated.
A week full of fun and adventure worth experiencing! Whether it's the water rescue service or other activities - the tent camp has been an integral part of the community for more than 30 years, opening up new horizons and bringing a lot of joy.
