New residential project Bona Dea: multi-generational living in the heart of Vienna!
The new project “Bona Dea” is being presented in Vienna, which is intended to bring a breath of fresh air into the housing market with its special concept of generational living. IMMOcontract took care of the sales of the ambitious project, which not only aims to offer modern living space, but also space for community. The project is located on Habe-die-Ehre-Gasse in Vienna's 22nd district and includes a total of nine apartments in different sizes from 38 to 130 square meters.
The apartments in this solid brick building adhere to the highest standards of energy efficiency. These include heat pumps and a photovoltaic system, which help residents live more environmentally consciously. Prices start at 254,500 euros for a two-room apartment and go up to 728,600 euros for the large six-room apartment.
A home for all generations
What characterizes the concept of generational living? It enables several age groups to live together in one residential building and thus promotes integration between young and old. A special feature of the “Bona Dea” project is the possibility of dividing apartments into sub-areas for families, which creates space for both retreat and community activities. This type of living offers an ideal solution for multi-generational households and families with growing children.
The trend towards intergenerational living has increased significantly in recent years. Many people looking for housing are faced with the challenge of finding adequate living space that meets their needs. Single parents and working parents in particular find support in intergenerational living from neighbors who can, for example, act as “surrogate grandparents”. That’s not all – younger residents can help seniors with everyday tasks, which strengthens social interaction.
Create a sense of community
However, the project in Habe-die-Ehre-Gasse is not the only one that is jumping on the generational living bandwagon. There are numerous similar initiatives in Vienna. For example, another project is being implemented at Meißauergasse 2a that will create age-appropriate apartments and shared apartments for older people. Such projects are urgently needed because, according to Statistics Austria, there will be around 2.6 million pensioners in Austria by 2050.
A common essence of intergenerational housing projects is the implementation of community activities and planning meetings that help create a strong sense of neighborhood even before the apartments are occupied. This not only promotes social cohesion, but also enriches the lives of everyone involved and creates a common home for everyone.
Vienna is well on its way to creating a home for all age groups with a wide range of multi-generational housing projects and thus securing the future of housing. The “Bona Dea” project is a further step in this future-oriented direction, which is both ecologically and socially sustainable.
