New fish snack bar in Vienna: tradition meets fresh enjoyment!

A new fish snack bar with the illustrious name “More than Fish Shop” opened in downtown Vienna on September 29, 2025. The location at Hollandstrasse 1a, only about 100 meters north of the Salztor Bridge, could not be more centrally located. Operator Alexander Jovanovic, known for his takeover of the focaccia shop Felice, has now ventured into the world of seafood and fish dishes. The charming snack bar has a maritime design: seafood wallpaper, net and shell decorations create a rustic ambience that invites you to enjoy. Jovanovic's mother ran a fish shop on Schüttaustraße in Kaisermühlen for many years, which makes his passion for fresh seafood understandable.

The offer leaves nothing to be desired: There are various versions of breaded fish, served as a portion with fries, in a wrap or in a roll. Fish specialties include cod, squid, shrimp, catfish and grilled salmon. A popular hit seems to be the large portion of calamari rings with fries and tartar sauce, which is available for 12.90 euros. Many a fish lover gets weak and likes to stop off at the new snack bar.

A critical look at the concepts

In a time when kitchens are trendy and with an eye on current developments in the catering industry, it is particularly important for new offers such as the “More than Fish Shop” to stand out. At the same time, it turns out that it's not just fish cuisine that's exciting - there's also a lot going on in other areas, such as viticulture. Climate change is causing winemakers to become creative internationally, adapting new grape varieties and facing the challenges. These trends are also important for the catering industry, as they constantly expand the variety of offerings and allow guests to immerse themselves in new tastes.
