B&B Hotels: Seven new locations and record growth in the first half of the year!

The hotel market in Vienna is currently experiencing a strong upswing. B&B Hotels, one of the leading players in the industry, is reporting a strong first half of 2025. CEO Arno Schwalie underlines the successful, cooperative growth and the importance of strategic location decisions. Seven new hotels were opened in the first half of the year, including a new location in Vienna-Heiligenstadt. A total of nine new rental agreements were signed, further expanding the range of comfortable and inexpensive accommodation options. Tophotel reports that...

B&B Hotels has increased the number of its available rooms by 686, with 120 of them being new in Austria. This is evidence of a sustainable expansion course that makes the chain the largest hotel chain in Germany, with over 250 hotels in Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark and the Netherlands alone. Thanks to the support of Goldman Sachs, the majority shareholder since 2019, the company can continue to invest heavily in the future.

Strategic plans and new locations

B&B Hotels' current growth strategy aims to increase the number of hotels in Germany to 400 by 2030. In addition to the new hotel in Vienna, other exciting locations were announced, such as Wismar, Krefeld-Süd, Munich-Schwabing, Emmerich, Passau-Süd and Leszno in Poland. There were also several rental agreements in August, including for future hotel projects in Berlin, Aachen-City East, Magdeburg-Nord and Salzburg City-Süd. These developments underline B&B Hotels' ambitions to expand in markets with growth potential. Tageskarte reports that ...

But that's not all, the pipeline is still well filled. In cities where B&B hotels already exist, more are expected to open in the next few years - such as in Stuttgart, Hanover and Ilmenau. These new hotels are not only intended to complement existing offerings, but also to respond more specifically to the needs of travelers. Each new hotel will have single, double, family and disabled-accessible rooms, as well as modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, Sky TV and adjustable air conditioning. Premium rooms will even feature innovative design and advanced features like rainfall showers and coffeemakers.

Sustainability and renovations

B&B's 20 existing hotels have also received a facelift and undergone extensive renovations. These measures show that the company not only invests in new projects, but also sustainably maintains the existing infrastructure. The aim is to delight guests with a contemporary and pleasant environment, whether they are traveling for business or to enjoy their leisure time.

The plans for sustainable expansion go hand in hand with the vision of improving hotel offerings in economically relevant medium-sized cities and metropolitan regions. Tobias Gollnest, Chief Development Officer, emphasizes that despite the challenges in the real estate market, the new rental agreements and new construction projects are of crucial importance for the company's future success. It remains exciting to see how the dynamics in the hotel market will continue to develop!
