Villach students offer free tutoring: an educational summit for everyone!
A remarkable initiative has been established in Villach that supports the city's students. Under the title “Kids4Kids-Tutoring”, four dedicated students from the BG/BRG St. Martin have been offering free tutoring for around a year. Veronika Gillner, Sophie Assmann-Hafenscherer, Alexandra Gillner and Pauline Steiner, all between 16 and 17 years old and from the bilingual seventh grade, show how you can actively support the community.
The tutoring takes place at Otelo Villach, a place that serves as a meeting point for various educational offerings. Here, students who need support can learn in a relaxed atmosphere. The initiative was created by the students to help others and at the same time consolidate their own knowledge.
Looking for successors
The students are currently looking for successors for their project. This shows how important not only the tutoring itself is to them, but also the further spread of this idea. “We want the initiative to continue and to motivate others to get involved too,” says one of the students.
The commitment of the young women is not only commendable, it also has a positive influence on the school community. Free tutoring makes access to education easier, which is particularly important in challenging times.
Another commitment: Literacy Development
However, the importance of educational initiatives does not end in Villach. Young people around the world are also committed to learning. As part of “Kids4Kids”, for example, stories are submitted, the proceeds from which further support the Literacy Development Programs. Schools can register for discounted participation, providing an additional incentive to get involved and promote reading. Further information about the conditions of participation can be found on the official website of Kids4Kids Kids4Kids.
This diverse range of education and tutoring shows that there is a lot of passion in the Villach community. With their initiative, the students of “Kids4Kids-Tutoring” are setting an example of how educational success and support can go hand in hand. Continued commitment to literacy programs internationally shows that these ideals extend beyond national borders.
Overall, it is an exciting time for education in Villach. It will be interesting to see how the initiative will develop further - and whether new, motivated successors will be found to continue the beautiful tradition.
