The history of table tennis in Vienna

Table tennis has a long tradition in Vienna, dating back to 1901, when the first shots were played in the Hietzinger Sports Club. Table Tennis Vienna provides an overview of the development of the sport in the city, which was thwarted several times by world wars and other challenges. The first Viennese ping-pong game association was founded in 1923, and enthusiasm for the sport has continued to develop ever since.

The Robert Hanak Table Tennis Championship (RHTT), which was launched in 2011, now includes 23 clubs and is the third largest table tennis association in Vienna. The VÖB, as the second largest association, also offers a wide range of opportunities for table tennis enthusiasts with its seven leagues.

The conditions for participation are open to everyone who would like to take part in these teams: all you have to do is find two people for a double team. The clubs themselves are also active and present themselves on social media in order to get even more players excited about the sport. If you would like to find out more about the various clubs and their offers, you will find a wealth of information on the respective websites.
