Transfers at Rapid Vienna: Departures and new faces in the team!
There seems to be a lot going on at Rapid Vienna during the transfer period. With the signing of Petter Nosa Dahl as a replacement for Isak Jansson, the club is taking a new path. However, Markus Katzer, who made the decision public, emphasizes that Nosa Dahl was not the first choice for the Viennese, which further increases the curiosity about future transfers. The Norwegian, who has already gained experience in various leagues, is currently playing an interesting role in the Rapid team. He was a two-time Norwegian U21 team player and put up impressive statistics in his last two seasons in the Norwegian league before even moving to KV Mechelen in Belgium.
Another exciting transfer is that of Janis Antiste. The talented player is moving from US Sassuolo to Rapid on loan, with the purchase option being around 4 million euros, according to unofficial information. The 20-year-old has proven his abilities in the past and could be a valuable reinforcement for the Hütteldorfer team.
Departures and squad changes
But the focus isn't just on new arrivals. Danil Ankudinov will not move to Rapid, but will move to Ceuta in Spain in La Liga 2. However, Rapid has already kept an eye on David Berger from SV Ried to replace Ankudinov. The responsible sports director is urgently looking for alternatives, as Noah Bischof is also injured and could possibly move to Vienna on loan or could go to SV Ried as another replacement for Berger.
Oliver Strunz was unable to assert himself at Rapid, FAC and Altach. The club plans to terminate his contract but is facing difficulties as it is dated until 2027. Possible loan stations that could be considered for Strunz are FC Hertha Wels, Austria Klagenfurt or SKU Amstetten, while Admira Wacker and Vienna are not interested in signing him.
Rapid's future plans
A hot potato in central defense could be Ange Ahoussou, who is considered a potential departure. While Serge-Philippe Raux-Yao shows no serious interest in a move, Jean Marcelin was brought in to provide defensive security. Martin Ndzie from FC Ashdod is also highly rated. Should Mamadou Sangaré leave the club, Ndzie would be the first choice, while SC Bastia's Jocelyn Janneh is being considered as Ndzie's backup.
Finally, Tobias Børkeeiet is also a topic. After an injury, he is expected to get back into shape via Rapid II, although Molde FK have expressed non-binding interest in him. All in all, it appears that Rapid Vienna is facing exciting changes – both on and off the pitch. Fans can look forward to the next few weeks!
