Transfer time in the Bundesliga: Rapid Vienna is chasing Arnautovic!

The transfer period in the Austrian Bundesliga has started again and is bringing with it a large number of changes. The teams from Vienna, Hütteldorf and Linz are also busy working to strengthen their squads for the coming season.

Arnautovic back to Rapid?

A hot topic in Hütteldorf is the possible transfer of Marko Arnautovic. The 34-year-old is on the market for a free transfer and could sign a two-year contract worth around three million euros gross per year. The financing should be provided through third-party financing, sponsors and additional sources of income, such as Flash score reported. Many fans hope that the returnee will find his old strength and carry the team.

Austrians rely on Lee

While Rapid relies on old friends, FK Austria Wien has also done its homework and signed South Korean midfielder Kang-Hee Lee. Lee comes from Gyeongnam FC in the South Korean second division and has signed a contract until summer 2029. He scored two goals in 15 appearances and brings international experience, having been part of the South Korea U23 national team. With him, the Violets want to usher in a new era and shake up the league.

New arrivals in Linz and Altach

The other two representatives from Vienna also did not remain idle. SK Rapid has signed the 22-year-old Montenegrin Andrija Radulovic until the summer of 2029, for whom they paid around 1.1 million euros. Radulovic scored three goals in 18 games last season and could prove to be a valuable addition. FC Blau-Weiß Linz has also signed the talented 20-year-old goalkeeper Viktor Baier on loan from Viktoria Pilsen. He is supposed to be the new number one in goal and has already gained international experience.

SCR Altach has also strengthened itself and signed the French-Congolese midfielder Yann Massombo. The contract runs until summer 2027 and includes an option for an extension. Massombo comes on a free transfer from FC Biel-Bienne and brings with him an impressive record of 14 goals in 64 competitive games, which makes him an interesting additional selection.

Current transfer movements

In addition to the prominent newcomers, there are also some departures that will shake up the Bundesliga. The departures include Raphael Hofer (NS Mura, Slovenia), Hendry Blank (Hannover 96, Germany), and Leandro Morgalla (VfL Bochum, Germany, loan).

In terms of team constellations, FC Red Bull Salzburg is the strongest team with a total market value of 175.5 million euros. SK Sturm Graz, SK Rapid Wien and other teams such as FC Blau-Weiß Linz and SCR Altach have to assert themselves as the league progresses this season with a basic round in 22 match days. After this phase, the league will be divided into a championship group and a qualification group, which should create even more excitement.

With all these changes, the Austrian Bundesliga is facing an exciting year. Who will come out on top? Fans are already eager to see their favorite teams on the pitch.
