Austria Vienna starts the training camp in Bad Tatzmannsdorf with new strikers!
On June 29, 2025, FK Austria Wien is looking optimistically into the future as the team prepares for the upcoming season at the Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf. The training camp begins on Monday, which is crucial for preparing for the competition.
Coach Stephan Helm has put together a colorful squad of seven strikers, including new signings Noah Botic (Australian), Manprit Sarkaria, who returned as the “child of Austria”, and Kelvin Boateng. These three players came to the Violets on free transfers, which reflects clever financial planning. But top talent Konstantin Aleksa, Maurice Malone, Marco Raguz and Romeo Vucic, who returned from GAK, can't miss the training mile either.

The training camp lasts a total of ten days and aims to examine the players' athletic fitness and tactical details, according to coach Helm. The team will have the opportunity to not only work on their fitness but also keep an eye on the upcoming friendlies. Prepared for this, Austria Vienna will start the new season on July 18th - two days earlier than arch-rivals Rapid Vienna, who will play against Bundesliga club Union Berlin.
However, there are also injured players in the squad. Lucas Galvao, Ziad El Sheiwi, Florian Wustinger, Muharem Huskovic and Marko Raguz have to stay in Vienna, while Ibrahima Dramé will travel after his recovery. Captain Lukas Mühl is also struggling with adductor problems and is training individually on the pitch.
Looking forward to the new season
An interesting detail on the side: Two years ago, Austria transferred striker Haris Tabakovic to Hertha BSC for 500,000 euros, which was due to his previous release clause. A year later, the player was sold to Hoffenheim for three million euros. With this history in mind, the Viennese football scene will be watching closely to see what Austria can achieve this season.
Another exciting competition is looming at Rapid Vienna, who are also starting the race with seven strikers. However, they are currently without Nikolaus Wurmbrand and Noah Bischof due to injuries. A look at transfer activity shows that Rapid will have to raise more than six million euros to sign Marko Arnautovic, who demands a two-year contract and an annual salary of three million euros. Despite his impressive career, Arnautovic has basically only won titles at Inter Milan - and without a decisive role.
The preparations in Austrian football are in full swing and while Austria Vienna is laying the foundation for a successful season, the look at the development at Rapid Vienna and the returnees from the injured camp will remain exciting. The football community can look forward to exciting weeks!
