A very special anniversary will soon be celebrated in Vienna: The city's escape room scene has been an integral part of leisure activities for puzzle and adventure lovers for ten years now. From August 4th to 8th, 2025, the four major providers are organizing – Time Busters, First Escape, Open the door and Crime Runners – the big “Escape Challenge Vienna”. True to the motto: Puzzle, discover and win!
This unique event allows teams to take part in a cross-company puzzle rally, where participation is free. Anyone who is up for a bit of adventure can still register by this date. Ulrike Dziurzynski, the managing director of “Open the Door” and also the idea behind the challenge, emphasizes the importance of cooperation between providers: “We recommend each other and have been working together for years,” says Dziurzynski.
An exciting adventure awaits
The escape rooms in Vienna are not only interactive games, but also offer a lot of fun and excitement. The puzzles are about overcoming various challenges to ultimately find a way out. A collection pass will be distributed for participants in the Escape Challenge, with which stamps can be collected in the four branches. Anyone who collects diligently and successfully completes all stations has the chance to win great prizes.

An additional highlight is set by “Adventure Guides”, which introduce a new reward system. There is a stamp for each successfully completed room, and mini-challenges are also part of the program. This gives ambitious puzzle fans the opportunity to win limited anniversary coins.
