New KulturCard for new building: Experience cultural diversity affordable!

In new building, a new "culture card" will soon be introduced, which is intended to ensure a fresh wind in the cultural life of the 7th district. The initiative aims to create incentives for cultural offers and increase the visibility of local cultural institutions. The cultural commission unanimously accepted the application, which shows that there is a strong interest here. The chairwoman of the cultural commission, Anna Babka of the Greens, emphasizes the importance of making cultural diversity visible in a new building. Christina Schlosser from the ÖVP new building also emphasizes how important education is through cultural events, especially for children and young people.

But what does that mean specifically for the new builders? The planned “Kulturcard” is primarily intended to create affordable offers and is expected to include formats such as a 1+1 card campaign for events. A digital variant of the card is also considered to ensure a modern and flexible offer. This could enable residents to take part in cultural events easier and cheaper. However, the exact financing of the "Kulturcard" is still unclear; Here the budget remains from the existing cultural budget or the means of public relations.

cultural funding in the district

The new building commission is also currently inviting everyone interested to apply for funding. The applications must be completed correctly and completely. A concise project description helps the members of the cultural commission to get a clear picture of the projects. It is recommended to look for complementary funding from other funding agencies. On the website of the IG Kultur Vienna there is an overview of the available cultural funding.

Applications should be submitted at least six weeks before the planned event date. In addition, applicants can submit applications up to ten days before the cultural commission meeting. In the event of a positive promise of funding, the applicants will be announced the specific support criteria of the 7th district, which exist in addition to the general criteria of the cultural department (MA 7).

look into the future

An interesting comparison shows itself in the 9th district, where a similar system has existed for twelve years. There, the residents benefit from discounted theater visits. This perspective could also ensure a long -lasting joy in culture in a new building. Cultural City Councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler from the SPÖ is also supportive of the "Kulturcard" and will be happy to be available for further developments and ideas.

The "Kulturcard" not only promises an improvement in cultural participation in the district, but also an exciting further development for the entire cultural landscape in Vienna. With a well thought -out planning, this initiative could become a real hit. Further information and details about cultural funding can be found on the website of the city of Vienna wien.gv.at as well as in the cash for culture program.
