In the 23rd district of Liesing there are some exciting developments for residents that could enrich life in this part of Vienna. Numerous wishes were recently collected from residents to improve the quality of life in the area. MyDistrict reports that district leader Gerald Bischof (SPÖ) is taking the concerns seriously and would like to examine concrete improvement measures.
A key concern of residents is the cleanliness of the toilet facilities at Liesinger train station. Jan, a concerned citizen, suggests installing relaxing mist showers or a stylish fountain there. The signage at the bus stops – a wish from Elisabeth – could also be improved with illuminated boards so that passengers are always well informed.
A park with potential
Another topic is the Atzgersdorf city park. Here, Peter is not only calling for more planting, but also the creation of a biotope and the holding of a Christmas market. The district council has already initiated measures to improve the park, including the idea of setting up an additional water source for the water playground and planting more shade plants. Road safety
Another point that concerns residents is the traffic flow in Liesing. The B. family has mentioned that speed bumps should be installed on Oberlaaer Straße to ensure compliance with the 30 zone. Brigitta is pushing for more controls in Gregorygasse, where a speedometer is planned. Anita also draws attention to the need for improvement at the intersection of Gutheil-Schoder-Gasse and Anton-Baumgartner-Straße and suggests putting up a sign “End of the cycle path”.
Franziska's criticism of Ketzergasse in Siebenhirten also points to the challenges that residents face with through traffic and a lack of shopping opportunities. It remains to be seen how quickly and comprehensively these proposals can be implemented, but discussions are ongoing and it seems as if there is an active exchange between citizens and the district council.
So the hope remains that the 23rd district will become even more livable with these ideas and measures. Because as the saying goes: “There’s something going on” in Liesing!
