Hotel Savoyen in Vienna: New Sheraton from 2027 after extensive renovation!

The Hotel Savoyen Vienna in Vienna-Landstraße is facing an exciting change: from the beginning of 2027, the traditional hotel will be run under the renowned Sheraton brand. MHP Hotel AG, which already successfully operates eleven hotels under international premium brands in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, has announced the takeover of the business. This comes through a recent franchise agreement with Marriott. The hotel is currently still managed by the tourist office under the Austria Trend Hotels brand, but will soon shine in new splendor.

Located in the historic architecture of the former k.u.k. Hof- und Staatsdruckerei, the Hotel Savoyen Vienna currently houses 310 rooms, including 197 double rooms, 43 suites and 70 executive rooms. Particularly noteworthy is the spacious event hall, which, with over 1,000 m², is one of the largest hotel conference areas in Vienna. This offer makes the Savoy a sought-after conference venue and raises expectations for repositioning under the Sheraton brand.

Planned modernization and historical significance

MHP Hotel AG is planning a comprehensive modernization of the Savoy. This seems to make sense, because the hotel is not only considered one of the most famous conference hotels in the city, but also an architectural highlight in the embassy district of Vienna, near Belvedere Palace. These innovation steps could help unlock the hotel's full potential in an increasingly dynamic tourism sector.

“We see great potential in the repositioning of the hotel,” explains a representative of MHP Hotel AG. The forecast for sales for the current financial year is around 180 million euros. The high standards that MHP sets for the redesign is also reflected in the choice of interior design: The design of the Sheraton project is being realized by BWM Designers & Architects in Vienna, with support from IBCOL Real Estate.

Long-term cooperation and legal support

The close cooperation between MHP Hotel AG and Mechelgasse 1 GmbH was agreed on a long-term basis. Regarding the legal aspects, MHP has received support from both its offices in Germany and Vienna to ensure a smooth transition and rapid progress of the project.

For the Viennese and international audiences, this means that the Hotel Savoyen could set completely new standards in the near future and develop into a central player in the local tourism sector.
