Rainbow parade in Vienna: traffic jam and lock on Saturday!

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Viennese rainbow parade, also known as Vienna Pride, will again create a colorful atmosphere in the city center. This event is one of the greatest highlights of the year in the capital and attracts tens of thousands of people every year who demonstrate for the rights and equality of the LGBTQIA+community. MeinDzirk reports that the program was adapted in Graz due to the recent events.

traffic handling must adapt to considerable restrictions. From 8:30 a.m. the ring between the opera and the Franz Josefs-Kai will be closed. These closures are gradually expanded and can be expected at 12:00 p.m. until the beginning of the parade. Crossings of the ring are possible, but waiting times are expected. Delays are particularly affected by the entire two -line and several important streets such as Praterstrasse, Rennweg and Währinger Straße. The ÖAMTC recommends a bypass via the Danube Canal, Heumarkt, Schwarzenbergplatz and Karlsplatz.

traffic disruptions and diversions

In preparation for the large number of participants, there are also indications of diversions for vehicles that are traveling to the airport. During the traffic disruptions, access via the Franz-Josefs-Kai is not possible. Instead, a large -scale bypass is recommended via the city cars and Handelskai.

  • delays can be expected in the following locations:
  • entire two -line (Vordere Zollamtsstraße to Votivkirche)
  • Lower and Obere Donaustraße
  • Praterstrasse
  • Roßauer Lände
  • Rennweg
  • Prinz-Eugen-Straße
  • Wiedner Hauptstraße
  • Right Wienzeile
  • Burggasse
  • Lerchenfelder Straße
  • Josefstädter Straße
  • Universitätsstraße
  • Währinger Straße from Berggasse

also on the alternative routes across the belt and the A23 (southeast tangent) can lead to disabilities, such as vienna.at . The subway is advertised as a recommended alternative to attend the celebrations without major delays.

The rainbow parade is under the motto "Pride is a demonstration" and aims to raise awareness of equality. Support for this important event also comes from the ÖAMTC, which is committed to diversity and respectful interaction with each other. Enjoy the celebrations and remember to bring patience with me, because the streets will be full that day!
