On the first weekend in July 2025, the monastery meadow near Bad Staffelstein will once again be the venue for the popular open-air festival “Lieder auf Banz”. In what has become a proven tradition, the event attracts thousands of music fans who can look forward to two concert evenings with a colorful mix of melancholic, rock and cabaret sounds. This year, the program includes well-known greats such as: Rainhard Fendrich, Sarah Straub and Hannes Ringlstetter on stage. For many, it is a must to experience the impressive performances of the artists, including: Viva Voce and Miss Allie are.
The festival has now achieved cult status and is hosted by Bavarian Radio which will present the highlights of this year. In addition, there are the young talents who are honored through the Hanns Seidel Foundation competition and also receive a stage to present their music to a wide audience.
Diverse talents in the spotlight
The small and large fans of the songwriter scene will not be forgotten in the following years. The date for “Lieder auf Banz 2026” has already been set: Exciting acts are expected again on the Klosterwiese on July 3rd and 4th. Among other things, will Constantine Wecker, Bodo Wartke and the a cappella group Maybebop rock the stage with their new program “Must man like”. Hannes Ringlstetter will again be the moderator of the program.
For entertainment, there will also be an additional event called “Lachen auf Banz” on July 5, 2026, which will be led by Michl Müller. Here sizes like Mirja Regensburg and Luise Kinseher show off their comedic talent.
Cultural highlights in the open air
The “Lieder auf Banz” festival stands out thanks to its combination of music and cabaret. Meanwhile, music lovers can also spend a nice evening in Frankfurt: This hr symphony orchestra invites you to an open-air concert on the banks of the Main in Frankfurt on August 31, 2023. This event will be led by chief conductor Alain Altinoglu and expects more than 20,000 visitors. At this concert, guests can expect a varied program that includes pieces such as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Boléro”.
A special experience is also offered here with gastronomic offerings and free entry. However, the maximum number of visitors is limited to 12,000, so entry is no longer possible once this number has been reached for security reasons.
