VBS Floridsdorf and FAC: Strong partnership for young footballers!

The collaboration between VBS Floridsdorf and the Floridsdorfer Athletiksport-Club (FAC) promises to bring a breath of fresh air into the promotion of young talent in football. On June 10, 2025, representatives of the school and the football club met on the FAC sports field to celebrate the new educational partnership and hand over the VBS perimeter advertising. The board of directors and the school principal, Astrid Holzer, express their joy and optimism through this cooperation because they recognize the synergies that can arise from this collaboration.

“This partnership is valuable support for the school education of our players,” said Lukas Moser, the FAC’s youth director. He pointed out that several FAC talents who are already successfully active in Austria's second highest league are attending the Vienna Business School Floridsdorf. This also includes prominent players such as the ÖFB national player Marko Arnautovic and the U21 national player Oluwaseun Adewumi.

Innovative training paths

However, the training offered by VBS Floridsdorf extends far beyond the football partnership. From the 2024/25 school year, the new “Commercial Academy for Security Management, Cyber Security and Public Administration” (CyberHAK) will be offered. This innovative training combines basic business training with specialized content in cyber security and public administration. The aim is to give students not only subject-specific knowledge, but also skills that will enable them to go straight into the professional world.

As on the website floridsdorf.vbs.ac.at can be read, the training is supplemented by practical case studies and project-oriented teaching methods. This training is carried out in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Vienna State Police Directorate, which also gives students practical insights into relevant authorities.

Exemptions and future prospects

VBS Floridsdorf also offers its students the opportunity to take time off from lessons for championship games. This not only shows the understanding of the dual challenge between sport and education, but also the school's great commitment to the holistic development of its students. “We are proud to have entered into this partnership with the FAC and to expand our training offering,” emphasized Astrid Holzer, director of VBS Floridsdorf.

The Vienna Merchants Fund, which operates a total of six school locations with around 3,800 students, sees this cooperation as a forward-looking development. With a wide range of training offerings, ranging from commercial academies to commercial schools and advanced courses, they do a good business for educating and supporting young talent in Vienna.
