Living dreams in Rudolf Bednar Park: Everything about Vienna Housing Day!

On August 31, 2025, Rudolf Bednar Park in Leopoldstadt invites all Viennese to “Vienna Housing Day”. The event will be opened at 12 p.m. by ORF presenter Sylvia Graf and will offer a colorful program on the topic of living, building and coexistence until 6:30 p.m.

Under the motto “Living in Vienna”, the City of Vienna, represented by Vice Mayor Kathrin Gaál, has put together an extensive program. The focus is on information and advice. In various zones, experts from Wohnberatung Wien, Miethilfe, wohnfonds_wien, and several municipal departments are available to answer questions and give tips. In times of rising housing costs, it is more important than ever to inform the Viennese population about subsidies and opportunities to improve their living space. So reported meinkreis.at that the event is open to everyone and free of charge.

A family celebration for everyone

A special highlight are the numerous activities for the whole family. The children can look forward to entertainment with Robert Steiner (OKIDOKI) and an acrobatic show by the Rhizomatic Circus. A hands-on circus, creative craft activities and a boccia final tournament are also on the program. For all sports-loving visitors, there are also table tennis tournaments, obstacle courses and a football arena. The little ones can look forward to giant chess and a graffiti wall that offers workshops. Between activities, visitors can choose from a variety of food stalls set up along Krakauerstrasse.

In addition to the event, the City of Vienna is presenting an important project with its Housing Offensive 2024+, which is intended to create over 22,200 socially sustainable apartments in the coming years. Both subsidized new buildings and innovative approaches to construction are taken into account. Here too, Deputy Mayor Gaál will play an important role. A large number of property developer competitions, which will run until the end of 2026, are intended to place greater focus on ecological aspects and climate protection. Details can be found on the website Housing advice Vienna.
