Festival concert in Vienna: Musikbrücken celebrate 80 years of republic!

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the music lovers in Vienna can expect a very special event. The 2. Concert of the 6th Wise Rebel: Cro-Art Festival of the new Music brings creative sounds to the Bank Austria Salon in the old town hall. The event entitled "Music Building Bridges / 2 / Festival concert: Musikbrücken" begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is from 6:30 p.m. and since the places are limited, it is advisable to book tickets in time. Admission takes place according to the principle of "Pay as You Wish", whereby a donation is recommended from 20 euros.

A sign of connection and cultural exchange is set by the presentation of works of important composers: inside from Austria, Croatia and Poland. For example, those present can look forward to pieces by Grażina Bacewicz, Tomislav Uhlik, Franjo Krežma and a premiere by Gabriele Proy. The 50th anniversary of the death of Dmitri Schostakovich is also recognized with a special commemoration, while the evening ends with the sounds of Johann Strauss. This is not only a musical event, but also a ceremony on the occasion of several anniversaries, including 80 years of the Republic of Austria, 30 years of EU membership and 1100 years of Kingdom Croatia.

The talented Andrea Nikolić, who not only appears as a violinist, but also takes over the artistic direction. She is accompanied by an outstanding ensemble, including Dominika Witowicz, Laura Kraljević (violin), Weronika Izert, Marta Potulska (Viola), Jadwiga Roguska (violoncello) and Evan Hulbert (double bass).

The festival has had an exciting development. The Cro-Art Festival , which began on October 30, 2023, celebrated its 10th anniversary and devoted himself to the topic "Women, Love and Music" this year. Under the direction of Andrea Nikolić, who launched the 2020 festival, the festival pursues the goal of illuminating and promoting cultural links between Croatia and Austria.

The audience can look forward to a multifaceted program that also includes future concerts. In addition to the festival concert in June, further performances are also planned, including a CD presentation and a panel discussion on December 3, 2023. This series will be completed on December 16, 2023 with a festive Christmas concert in the Dominican Church.
