Fans in turmoil: Is Blind Investigating still coming up with new cases?
The Austrian crime series “Blindly Investigated” has caused some uncertainty among fans in recent days. Since its premiere in 2018, the series has aired eleven exciting episodes, but the last new adventure was shown in 2021. In 2025 there will only be repeats, which leads many viewers to ask: Is the popular series now canceled? The current repetition entitled “Death in the Fiaker” will be broadcast today at 8:15 p.m. on Erste and via the ARD live stream on Joyn. In this episode, special investigator Alex Haller goes undercover in a cab company to look for interesting and often dangerous leads.
What is particularly noteworthy is that Alex Haller, played by Philipp Hochmair, lost his eyesight due to an explosive attack. Despite his limitations, he slips into the role of the stubborn investigator and from the sixth case onwards receives official approval from his successor Laura Janda to continue his investigation. The taxi driver Nikolai Falk becomes Haller's friend and assistant investigator, which promises some humorous and impressive moments.
New cases being planned
Despite fans' concerns that The Blind may have been canceled, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Two new cases have already been filmed. The 12th case with the working title “The Dead Man in the Zoo” takes place in Schönbrunn Zoo and promises to provide an exciting backdrop for the investigation. In addition, the 13th case “Freud's Error” is in the starting blocks, which begins with Haller's kidnapping. However, specific broadcast dates for these new episodes are not yet known.
The mix of suspense and poignant stories has made “Blindly Determined” a favorite with audiences, and fans are hoping that ARD sticks with the series. The series is not only known for its criminal cases, but also for the deep insights into the lives of its protagonists. This makes the stories even more captivating and keeps the audience excited to see what happens next.
Crime in Austria
Obviously, fans hope that new exciting mysteries will be presented to them by Alex Haller and his team in the near future, and perhaps the series is far from over. Many hope that ARD will announce the further episodes soon and that they will shine on the screen again.
