A new recreational area is being created in the Danube city: The Albert Schultz Park, which is being built in the “Oberes Hausfeld” area, will not only expand the city's green areas, but also enrich the lives of the residents. These trees are important for capturing particulate matter and CO2 as well as producing oxygen, which will significantly improve the air quality in the area. In addition, the new green spaces create habitats for numerous animal species and increase biodiversity in the city, as the city of Vienna knows.

Five star offers for everyone

Albert Schultz Park will be designed in a variety of ways to meet the needs of all visitors. 11 pergolas are planned, which with a total area of 223 square meters will ensure that there are shady spots even on hot summer days. This means that the park will not only be a place for relaxation, but also an example of sustainable urban planning.

Another highlight is the inclusive playground, which invites children to let off steam by climbing, sliding and balancing. Particularly noteworthy is the barrier-free integration carousel, which allows every child to have fun. Safety is ensured by well-thought-out lighting along the main paths.

A contribution to urban climate resilience

The scientific assessment of the park according to current studies shows that green spaces are not only a source of recreation, but can also make a decisive contribution to the resilience of our cities in the face of climate change. According to that Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Trees promote well-being and can effectively mitigate the negative effects of heat islands. Increasing tree cover by at least 30 percent could dramatically reduce the number of extreme heat hours while ensuring more rainwater seeps away.

When planning and implementing the Albert Schultz Park, attention is not only paid to leisure activities, but also to the climatic challenges that we will face in the coming years. With its blooming landscape and the promotion of biodiversity, the park becomes a lively meeting place for young and old in the Danube city.
