When the first snowflakes fall and the festive spirit sets in, Vienna transforms into a true Christmas wonderland. The most famous Christmas markets, including the famous Christmas market in front of the town hall and the Advent magic will soon begin to enchant visitors with a festive atmosphere. This year the Christmas market opens its doors on November 14th and can be visited until December 26th. Every day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and even until 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, there are over 150 stalls here to spoil guests with traditional delicacies and handmade products.

But that's not all! The municipal Advent market on the Freyung also offers a more colorful range of handmade gifts and thus contributes to the Christmas tradition, which, by the way, goes back to the 13th century. The offer ranges from that Old Viennese Christmas market on the Freyung to the Advent market Am Hof, where handicrafts and tradition are very important.

For art and craft lovers this is Craft market in front of the Karlskirche a true treasure trove of creative treasures. If you like it romantic, you shouldn't miss the market in Spittelberg. And the Christmas villages, which are set up directly in front of Schönbrunn Palace, the Belvedere and at Maria-Theresien-Platz, also offer an impressive backdrop that will make the heart of every Christmas lover beat faster.

The festive lights on the streets Graben, Annagasse and Kohlmarkt add to the special atmosphere and make a winter walk through the city unforgettable. Entry to all of these markets is free, only the warm mulled wine or the traditional Christmas punch costs between 5 and 7 euros per cup.
