In the coming days there will be some significant changes to the Vienna subway and tram lines, primarily in connection with All Saints' Day on November 1st. Like the Vienna Lines report, the traffic intervals will be significantly increased in order to enable the numerous visitors to the cemeteries to arrive stress-free and to avoid the annoying search for a parking space.
On All Saints Day, many lines start operating early. Tram lines 11 and 71 run closer to the central cemetery, with line 11 leaving at 7 a.m. In addition, buses 38B and 39B are in use and serve the cemeteries in Nußdorf, Heiligenstadt and Sievering from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other lines such as 41A, 46A, 46B, 47A and 63A will also operate at reduced intervals.
Construction sites and subway renovations
But not everything goes smoothly. A comprehensive renovation is currently underway on the U4. This affects the Landstrasse station, which will not be stopped in the direction of Heiligenstadt until November 2, 2025 because the platform is being replaced. After All Saints Day, from November 3rd to December 4th, 2025, the Landstrasse station in the direction of Hütteldorf will be closed. If you rely on the subway here, you should alternatively use tram line 12 as a replacement.
In addition, the U6 is divided between Spittelau and Jägerstraße. Until November 2, 2025, it will only run between Siebenhirten and Spittelau as well as Jägerstraße and Floridsdorf. Tram line 49 will also be shortened until November 7, 2025, as track work is pending in Hütteldorf and Bujattigasse.
