FC Lichtental slips: 1:5 defeat against Michelbach shocked!

In a turbulent match, FC Lichtental suffered a painful defeat against SV Michelbach on the last matchday. The players from Lichtental had to admit defeat with 1:5, which meant that the gap to the top of the district league A North increased to four points Latest Baden news report. Despite a balanced first half that ended 1-1, the Lichtental team had to acknowledge the superiority of the guests after the break, who scored four times.

FC Lichtental is currently in sixth place in the North Season table with 15 points. The goal for the 2025/26 season is clear: to return to the “top five”. However, this will be a challenge as the club was moved from the South to the North season this season and must first reorient itself.

Personnel changes and new additions

A lot has happened at the club this season. There have been some personnel changes: Dirk Friedmann, Yannick Seckler and Edmond Kapllani have left the club, while new additions such as Ralf Kraus, who was reactivated, as well as Malachy Obetta, Enis Krasniqi, Ahn-Marc Vu and Frederick Atangana are expected to give the team new impetus. Sports director Claudio Colle emphasized that the team was more broadly positioned than last season in the South relay. This makes the selection easier for coach Manuel Seifried, who notes that 15 to 16 players are fighting for a place in the starting eleven.

But not everything goes according to plan: Luca Stösser and Raphael Geiler are out for the long term due to injuries, and Lucas Metzmaier is also leaving the club for professional reasons. Despite these difficulties, the coach is optimistic because in the first ten games there was only one defeat and three draws.

Look at the league

The competition never sleeps. While FC Lichtental is struggling, FV Plittersdorf, SV Bietigheim and FV Iffezheim were able to win their games, which allowed them to pull away from the Lichtentalers. In a highly competitive league, every game is crucial and the next games will be of great importance for the team.

As of now, the only thing left for FC Lichtental is to keep their heads up and concentrate on the challenges ahead. A personnel change takes time, but the chances of climbing up the table are certainly there if the team spirit and performance are right.
