The Wachauerin: New wine bar in Vienna impresses with top wines!
The culinary and wine world in Vienna has grown! The new wine bar “Die Wachauerin” has opened on Alsergrund and expectations are high. The bar was founded by Anna, the daughter of the traditional winemaker from the Polz winery in Reifesdorf, which has been known for its exquisite wines since 1893. Anna attended a hotel management school and made a name for herself with numerous internships in the catering industry before returning to the catering business after a few years in Parliament. Your partner in this exciting project is Manfred Mladosevits, known for Transgourmet and Wein & Co.
In the “Wachauerin” wine lovers can access a total of around 40 wines from six first-class winemakers on the right bank of the Danube. The top winemakers include:
- Andreas Eder
- Martin Bergkirchner
- Georg Frischengruber
- Josef Fischer jun.
- Heinz Sigl
- Herbert Polz
At least one wine from each of these winemakers is also available by the glass, allowing guests to explore different flavors. A very special highlight of the bar is the “Winemaker of the Month” range, which can be tasted open.
A look at the pricing policy
The prices are absolutely fair: Achterl start at around five euros, and the popular White Spritzer is available for just 3.60 euros. In addition to the in-house wines, the bar also offers around 50 national and international wines as well as sparkling wines from all major grape varieties. The extensive and varied offering is another plus for wine lovers and those who want to become wine lovers.
The opening of “Die Wachauerin” shows how lively and dynamic the Viennese gastronomy scene is. The Alsergrund has not only gained another place to enjoy, but also a place that continues the tradition of wine-growing in a wonderful way. If you are still undecided, you should plan a visit, because there is definitely something going on here!
