CSU Neumarkt-St. Veit celebrates 70 years with a church service and ceremony!

The CSU local association Neumarkt-St. Veit was recently able to celebrate a remarkable anniversary: the organization is now 70 years old. This means that the CSU has not only established itself in the political landscape, but has also actively rooted itself in the community.

The celebrations to celebrate the 70th anniversary began with a festive service in the Jakobskirche in Hörbering, which was led by Pastor Franz Eisenmann. Embedded in this celebratory setting was the musical accompaniment by a men's choir, which presented the farmers' mass under the direction of Lorenz Bauer. It was an expression of the community spirit that would shape the event.

Ceremony with important guests

The ceremony then took place at the Landgasthof Zens in Hofthambach. Here, acting chairwoman Johanna Obermeier welcomed numerous guests, including members of the state parliament, the district administrator, and city and district councilors. This gathering provided an appropriate setting to look back on the successes of the last seven decades.

A central highlight of the ceremony was the speech by Kerstin Schreyer, the former Minister of State and Vice-Chairman of the Economic Committee. In her speech, she not only highlighted the CSU's political successes, but was also critical of the Ministry of Economic Affairs' poor decisions and the AfD's positions. She also acknowledged the valuable work of the local association, in particular the ambitions of mayoral candidate Stefan Streck, who presented his plans for the mayoralty in his speech.

A look into the past

After lunch, guests were able to browse through volumes of newspaper reports and pictures detailing the history of the CSU over the last 70 years. This nostalgic look back provided stimulating conversations and stimulated discussion about the region's political developments.

To round off the day, there was a celebration with coffee and cake, with the convivial atmosphere lasting until late in the afternoon. This relaxed environment encouraged open exchange among those present and strengthened bonds within the political community.

Commitment to the community

The local women's union is also very active by initiating various projects that appeal to almost all members of the community. From the annual Easter nest hunt to the Advent bazaar on the town square - the goal is always to support social gatherings and to cultivate values such as solidarity and community. The Women's Union, under the leadership of Johanna Obermeier, addresses the concerns of women and families and represents their interests in politics.

In this context, particular emphasis is placed on promoting women for leadership positions in politics and business. Mentoring projects for young women are part of this strategy, which is intended to strengthen cohesion between generations and benefit society as a whole.

Overall, the celebration not only shows the long existence of a political institution, but also the constant development and adaptation to the needs of the community. While the CSU can look back on a proud history, there are also many plans for the future that give hope for further community engagement.
