Viennese prefer to party during the day: the end of the club night is near!

A new party culture is on the rise in Vienna: the “day party” is becoming increasingly popular. Most partygoers are now drawn to the afternoon hours, while nighttime partying takes a back seat. Organizers and club operators have recognized the signs of the times and are adapting their programs accordingly. Kurt Bender, the head behind the popular day party “Soul”, can report sold-out events. These were launched last summer and have already amassed over 17,000 followers on Instagram.

“Soul” not only attracts people from Vienna, but has also revitalized the party scene in Kitzbühel and Lake Wörthersee. The next event is just around the corner: there will be a celebration in Altaussee on Saturday. Young people appreciate the benefits of daytime celebrations, including earlier start times and the ability to be fit for sport or work the next day. At the parties, the organizers attach great importance to an all-round aesthetic experience: decorated stages, light shows and smoke bombs create a special atmosphere.

A new era of celebration

Another trend driving the day's events is the desire for a healthy lifestyle and a reduction in alcohol. Visitors to “Soul” often don’t give a thought to extending the evening into the early hours of the morning. Instead, it's about having a relaxing afternoon and getting to bed on time.

An example of this trend is the first Coffee House Day Party, which took place on August 10, 2025 at Café Sperl. Organized by the Hot Honey Club, a new exclusive community club, the event attracted around 150 guests. They enjoyed a mix of music, snacks and drinks with DJs including Alexis Hera and Laura Sierra. The goal was to party early and go home without the stress of traditional nightlife.

Hot Honey Club is a breath of fresh air

The Hot Honey Club combines the historical flair of Viennese coffee house culture with modern club elements. The focus is on community and networking among those present. The weekly events are aimed primarily at women and offer a wide range of activities, from cake workshops and Pilates to brunch and running meetings. The next event, a “Sip & Paint”, is scheduled for August 14, 2025.

Day parties are not just a phenomenon in Vienna. They are already established in metropolises such as New York, Madrid and Sydney. The Hot Honey Club brings this concept to Vienna and proves to be a breath of fresh air in the vibrant city.
