Fans of dark sounds can look forward to July 17, 2025! The Turkish dark wave and post-punk duo SHE PAST AWAY, formed in Bursa in 2006, will be on stage as part of their 2026 tour. Led by founding members Volkan Caner and Doruk Oztürkcan, the band has established itself as an influential player in the dark wave genre and impresses with its distinctive style.
SHE PAST AWAY cleverly combines electronic sounds with classic guitar sounds and impresses with minimalist lyrics written in Turkish. The band's first works date back to the first EP "Kasvetli Kutlama" in 2009, followed by their debut album "Belirdi Gece", which was released in 2012 and was recognized as one of the best albums of the decade 2010-2019. This prominent status was reinforced by fan support and the re-release of their albums by Metropolis Records in North America.
Musical evolution and influences
The band is considered a pioneer in the dark wave sector and draws inspiration from a variety of musical influences. These include sizes such as Joy Division,The Sisters of MercyandSiouxsie and the Banshees. This stylistic diversity is reflected in their work and shows the change from a guitar-heavy sound to more electronic sounds, especially with their third album “Disko Anksiyete”, released in 2019.
