Looking for love on TV: 54 singles hope for their happiness on ORF 2!

The 29th season of “Love Stories and Marriage Matters”, a popular ORF dating show, begins on July 14, 2025. How 5min.at reports, the show has been bringing together singles from all over Austria since 2020 to support their search for great happiness. The show runs every Monday at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2 and offers an interesting and exciting opportunity to promote interpersonal relationships.

Each episode is also offered on ORF ON 24 hours before it is broadcast on TV. In this new season, a whopping 54 singles – 27 men and 27 women – have come forward to explore their love stories. These range from 33 to 81 years old and come from different federal states. The most exciting thing: The candidates will be presented in a total of nine episodes until September 8th, followed by a final episode on November 10th that summarizes the participants' developments.

Single statistics and the new season

Let's take a closer look at the participants: The federal state ranking shows that Lower Austria is in the lead with 17 participants, followed by Vienna with 12 and Styria with 8 candidates. The distribution looks like this:

In the opening episode, six singles from five federal states are presented, including Inés (50+, Southern Styria), Klaus (57, Lower Austria), Roberto (54, Salzburg), Gerhild (63, Salzburg), Angela (78, Vienna) and Thomas (40, Carinthia). Each of them has their own ideas and wishes when it comes to finding a partner.

Success stories and new applications

The show has had remarkable success in its 28 seasons so far. Loud ORF Around a third of the participants found happiness in love, and a total of 53 couples said yes, including five same-sex couples. In addition, four babies from the love stories were born. A real success for a format that offers many people a new perspective on love.

Now those interested have the opportunity to apply for the 30th season in 2026 - an opportunity that many singles may want to take advantage of. The crowds are high and interest in the show remains enormous. Not least due to the constant popularity of reality TV formats, such as Statista documented, make up a significant part of the television program. Even though they are often criticized, these formats fascinate numerous viewers and offer entertainment in their own unique way.
