Crime highlight in Vienna: Haller confronts his dark past!
On September 9, 2025, the Viennese crime series “Blindly Investigated” will be exciting again. In the fifth case entitled “ Buried alive “, the main character, ex-commissioner Alexander Haller, becomes involved in a story that is as dark and gripping as the scenery of the Central Cemetery in Vienna, which serves as the setting for a nerve-wracking nighttime showdown.
The story revolves around themes of guilt and punishment - a concept that plays a central role not only in this crime thriller, but also in literary traditions such as Fyodor Dostoyevsky's famous novel " Guilt and Punishment "Looks back. Here the protagonist suffers from his inner conflicts and the consequences of his actions, similar to Haller, who is held accountable for an earlier case.
A dramatic comeback
Philipp Hochmair once again takes on the role of Alexander Haller, a man who dares to make a dramatic new beginning after a tragic bomb attack in which he lost his fiancée and his eyesight. In the current case, Haller's skills are put to the test when he meets the murderer, played by Alexander Beyer, who has a mysterious connection to his past.
Haller is supported by his successor Laura, played by Jaschka Lämmert. But the two are initially rather hostile towards each other, as Haller is convinced that a larger conspiracy is at work and he has to prove the innocence of another suspect, Kurt Brandner.
Haller's beliefs are based on new evidence when the murder victim leaves a note with the date of the bombing incident. This discovery confronts Haller with old wounds and new questions. The tension increases when they reopen the mysterious death of suspect Brandner, who committed suicide while in custody.
A gripping ensemble
The cast is impressive: In addition to Phillip Hochmair and Alexander Beyer, Andreas Guenther as Nikolai Falk and Patricia Aulitzky as Sophie Haller can be seen in leading roles. The film is directed by Jano Ben Chaabane, who was already responsible for the first two films in the series, and brings out the dark atmosphere of the plot perfectly.
The film promises to be an exciting television event that will not only delight crime thriller fans, but will also raise deeper questions about human nature and the consequences of decisions - in the spirit of Dostoyevsky's classic work, which also captivated readers in 1866.
Fans of the genre and anyone interested in the depths of the human soul should mark September 9th in their calendars. The mysteries of life are often complex, and in Blind Determination they are unfolded in dramatic fashion.
