Summer festival at the Simmering Music School: variety of sounds for everyone!

On June 18th, the forecourt of the Simmering Education Center will be transformed into a musical hotspot. The Summer festival at the Simmering music school starts at 4:00 p.m. and offers a multifaceted open-air concert until 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, and the program promises a colorful mix of rock, jazz and avant-garde sounds. Students, teachers and musicians from the music school will take the stage and show what they are made of.

A special highlight of the evening will be the performance of Paragraph 5 from Cornelius Cardew's work “The Great Learning”. This piece is inspired by texts by the philosopher Confucius and is presented by around 80 participants from Simmering. The music school sets an example for community and social participation and invites families, friends and music enthusiasts to this community celebration. Everyone is also invited to experience the students' creative work and to look forward to the premiere of the entire cycle on November 30th in the Vienna Konzerthaus as part of the Wien Modern festival.

Diversity and quality in teaching

The Simmering Music School offers a wide range of subjects, including piano lessons. The focus here is on the piano as a versatile instrument that is suitable for solo playing as well as for chamber music and jazz formations, such as Simmering Music School explained.
