Gabriel from Simmering: 1,400 applications and only rejections!
Gabriel K. from Simmering is desperately looking for a job. In the last 1.5 years he has written an incredible 1,400 applications, but until today (June 22, 2025) he has not been successful. Loud Today the rejections he receives are overwhelming at over 99%. Invitations to take aptitude tests or interviews are rare and Gabriel's frustration is palpable.
He has documented his applications in detail since November 2023 and has already sent 1,378 of them between this point and May 30, 2025 alone. January with 108, February with 90 and April with 80 applications are the months with the most effort. Nevertheless, he remains without a job and suspects that it is due to his lack of professional experience.
Education and professional experience
Gabriel completed his apprenticeship as an administrative assistant with distinction in 2020 and then worked for a year at the Federal Ministry of the Interior. His further qualifications include the professional maturity examination, which he successfully passed in February 2023. He also has an apprenticeship as a restaurant specialist and numerous certificates, such as ECDL Advanced and Aptis for English.
In addition to his application efforts, Gabriel attended various counseling courses through the AMS and had his resume professionally revised. Nevertheless, his path always leads to rejections. Although the definitions of “unemployed” and “jobseekers” are clearly defined in SGB III, Gabriel finds it difficult to obtain the opportunities he desires. Unemployed people are available to the labor market without employment, while job seekers can also look for new opportunities while employed, as the Federal Employment Agency states Here.
A look at the job market
The overall situation on the labor market shows that it is just as difficult for many people to find a suitable job. For example, the statistics from the Federal Employment Agency provide information here about current reports and statistics on unemployment. It is interesting that many job offers are usually registered with employment agencies, which is important for job seekers.
Despite the setbacks, Gabriel remains optimistic and wants to continue working. Anyone who would like to help him or can give advice is welcome to contact him via email [email protected].
