Topping-out celebrated: Sustainable apartments in Simmering take off!

On July 10, 2025, BIP Immobilien Development GmbH celebrated the topping-out of its residential project at Grillgasse 12, in the heart of Vienna Simmering. With the completion of the shell, which includes 49 rental apartments and a business premises, a new, attractive living space will be created. The celebration, which was attended by several project participants as well as representatives of the City of Vienna and partner companies, underlined the cohesion and commitment to sustainable development in the region. A look at the furnishings shows that the new apartments meet the highest standards. They are made of high-quality and durable materials and have a central heat pump for heating supply. A photovoltaic system on the roof provides environmentally friendly electricity. There is also a garage with e-charging infrastructure for electric cars and bicycles. All apartments offer private outdoor spaces, including gardens, balconies and terraces. The apartments on the top floor are also equipped with air conditioning – a real oasis of well-being! Real estate editorial team added that this building represents the second groundbreaking of the project within a few weeks, after that of Schimmelgasse 5.

Particular attention is paid to the sustainability of the project, which was impressively emphasized by Sebastian Unger, Managing Director of BIP Immobilien. He explained that the creation of affordable and sustainable housing is an essential part of what makes Vienna one of the most livable cities in the world. At the celebration, Thomas Steinhart, the district leader of Simmering, emphasized the importance of sustainable and modern living concepts for the quality of life in the city. The vision is clear: Vienna should achieve a 100% renewable energy supply by 2050.
