SAK brings new assistant coach: goal of staying in the league next season!
The SAK sports club has taken a step towards an improved future by hiring a new assistant coach a week before the start of summer preparation. Lukas Tragner, a 33-year-old B license coach, takes on the role, replacing Norbert Nemeth, who is moving to Vienna. Coach Florian Königseder is optimistic that the SAK, which finished in 12th place last season, does not want to have to deal with the relegation battle and is aiming for a secured midfield.
Königseder emphasizes that the squad planning has already been completed. Those responsible can already look back on successful transfers in the winter and an improvement in sport in the spring. New members of the squad include Michael Perlak from Kuchl, Simon Leibetseder from Rohrbach, Alois Pühringer from Pettenbach and Ernes Pasic from Plainfeld. However, the fans also have to say goodbye to some players. The departures include Tobias Hochleitner (Schwarzach), Matthias Gallei (Vienna), Muhammed Hamzic (Hallwang), Arber Tafilaj (Traunstein) and Hamid Najebullah, whose new club is still unknown.
An assistant coach with experience
Lukas Tragner brings a lot of experience with him, even though he took a long break due to his studies. He was active as a player for Neumarkt, Hallwang, Berndorf and Henndorf, among others, and was assistant coach in Plainfeld in 2022. From a sporting perspective, his knowledge, particularly in video analysis, could benefit the team. Coach Königseder emphasizes that Tragner is capable of learning and determined, which will be an advantage for the challenges ahead.
The role of the assistant coach has changed significantly in recent years. Previously often working in simple assistant functions, co-trainers are now responsible for specialized tasks in tactics, fitness and psychology. They play a key role in supporting the main coach, planning and executing training sessions and analyzing games. They are also important for individual player development and communication within the team, as Cotrainer.com describes.
A look at other clubs
The developments at SAK do not stand alone. Other clubs such as GAK have also recently made changes to their coaching team. Florian Hart will be Ferdinand Feldhofer's new assistant coach and brings with him five years of coaching experience, including from the U18 team at FC Red Bull Salzburg. Feldhofer highlights Hart's versatility and experience, which should also have a positive influence on the team. Such changes in the coaching staff can now be observed almost everywhere in Austrian football, in the spirit of the constant further development of the teams.
The coming weeks will show how the redesigns at SAK will affect sporting performance. But one thing is clear: the training preparation promises to be exciting, and the fans hope that the efforts will be reflected in a positive season.
