From June 28th there will be a major change in S-Bahn traffic in Vienna. There are no trains running between Floridsdorf and Praterstern until September 1st. This was done by the MyDistrict announced and falls into the renovation work of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), which is taking place during the summer holidays. The aim of these measures is to modernize the S-Bahn route and eliminate previous deficiencies.

However, two alternative bus routes are available for commuters and travelers. The yellow line, a “direct bus”, will run between Praterstern and Floridsdorf between 5:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. without stopping, while the blue line, which represents the classic rail replacement service, will stop at Traisengasse and Handelskai. However, the construction work in Vienna does not only affect the S-Bahn. An extensive track construction project will also be carried out on Hütteldorfer Straße from April to June, which includes the replacement of 1,750 meters of track.
