Together for a clean Rudolfsheim Fünfhaus: Next garbage campaign!

Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, Österreich - in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus is cleaned up regularly! The Greens of the district have the motto "1150! We clear up!" On the flags and invite all residents to take part in their clean -up campaigns in the parks. These take place every second Saturday of the month and aim to free the green spaces of garbage and cigarette stubs. The next action is imminent: On Saturday, August 9th, in the Dadler Park, followed by an appointment on September 13th in the Rohrauerpark, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The committed participants can count on the support of the organizers. Griffin tongs, gloves and garbage bags are provided to make tidying up as easy as possible. District Councilor Florian Bichl (Greens) points out that cigarette butts in particular can pose a danger to the flora and impair people's health. In Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, the small parks are stronger from garbage because they are more difficult to clean than large green areas.

Viennese waste separation and waste avoidance

The city of Vienna relies on waste separation and avoidance through its 48 waste advice, which is an important source of information for the citizens. There are a total of six types of garbage cans for the correct separation:

• red ton: clean waste paper and uncoated boxes
• brown ton: Untreated, vegetable waste from garden and kitchen (biotonne)
• yellow-blue ton: plastic bottles, metal packaging and beverage cartons
• White glass barrels: colorless packaging glass
• Green colored glass barrels: colored packaging glass
• residual waste (black bin): drinking, window and decoration glasses

In addition to waste separation, the city offers free workshops and worksheets in order to strengthen the awareness of waste avoidance. The Mistopia adventure world in the House of Mist also has exciting puzzles and adventures around the topic of waste separation. Viennese can also obtain telephone advice on the crush on the craps.

Together for a better environment

The waste avoidance is of great importance not only in Vienna, but also at an even larger level. At European level, the goal was to reduce the amount of waste by 50% by 2030. This is not only about decoupling economic growth from the waste production, but also about reducing harmful substances in materials and the protection of people and the environment. Various actors are supposed to work together to achieve these goals, and in Vienna the focus on waste avoidance also contributes to maintaining a clean and livable city.
