A life for Rudolfsheim: Farewell to district councilor Kurt Willensdorfer
On December 11, 2025, Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus lost one of its most prominent citizens: Kurt Willensdorfer. Born on August 14, 1943, he left a deep mark on the parish, social and political life of the 15th district. His decades of commitment – be it in the parish or in politics – have shaped many generations. His work as an ÖVP district councilor, which lasted over 37 years, is particularly noteworthy.
Kurt Willensdorfer was not only a face of politics, but also a passionate member of the Burjan parish. Already in his childhood he found his place in the church and was actively involved as an altar boy, was in the youth group, played theater and took on the role of lector. He also always actively helped organize pilgrimages and hikes. His 65 years of service as “Nikolo” were another sign of his deep faith and great connection to the community. For many years he also served on the church council and parish council and had a significant influence on parish affairs.
A business owner's legacy
Kurt Willensdorfer also left his mark in the economic sector. For decades he ran a successful stationery shop on Märzstrasse, starting at number 65 and later at number 58. He and his products were very popular there - and anyone who knew him knew about his good instinct for the needs of his customers.
His funeral took place on December 23, 2025 at the Baumgarten Cemetery, followed by a memorial mass in the Rudolfsheim Church. These ceremonies testified to the population's great interest in his life and work. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for contributions to the Hildegard Burjan Parish Caritas in order to continue Kurt Willensdorfer's legacy of charity.
Promote respectful cooperation
Kurt Willensdorfer was known for his life-affirming and approachable personality. He viewed challenges with a positive attitude to life and actively promoted respectful cooperation. This attitude not only shaped his immediate environment, but also had an impact far beyond the borders of his district.
In today's world, when committed personalities like Kurt Willensdorfer are rare, we remember his numerous contributions to the community. A unique person whose work will resonate. His positive attitude and dedication have enriched not only the parish, but the entire 15th District. The memory of Kurt Willensdorfer remains alive and is valued and continued to be supported by those around him.
