Summer bistro on Spittelberg: culinary highlights until September!
A true gastronomic highlight returns to Vienna: Das Summer bistro Collina on the mountain, which is located in Vienna's seventh district, opened its doors again. The popular location has a lot planned for this year's season and is there for guests from Wednesday to Saturday, from 12:00 to midnight. Until September 9th, gourmets can enjoy some exciting culinary creations here. Host Tono Soravia describes the bistro as his passion project and is positive about the response from last season.
When we reopened this year, the food offerings and opening times were revised. At the culinary forefront is former sous chef Oskar Kastowsky, who ensures careful preparation and a focus on high-quality, regional ingredients. “Regionality and quality with a modern twist” are the cornerstones of the new concept, which is also intended to appeal to the tastes of guests. With a fine selection of light and substantial dishes, the menu is aimed at gourmets and connoisseurs.
A variety of delights for every taste
The new menu offers a tempting selection with something for everyone. Starters include delicious options such as venison tartare with black garlic cream and burrata with tomatoes, as well as the refreshing watermelon gazpacho. The main courses include Sulmthaler Bauernhendl with Piri Piri, Steckerlfisch from the Reinanke and a venison stroganoff with chanterelles. Vegetarians will also get their money's worth with one of the special dishes, such as the oven-baked celery with polenta. Of course, the side dishes shouldn't be missing either: homemade French fries, wild broccoli and various desserts such as tiramisu and chocolate mousse round off the offer.
The spatial conditions of the Collina on the mountain also allow social events to be held. New this year is the catering offer, which is designed for groups of 10 to 100 people. Events outside of regular opening hours are also possible. After the end of the summer season, the bistro will return to its usual lunch and evening operations in September.
A focus on sustainability
The emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients is not just a trend, but a lifestyle that modern dining trends strive for. A sustainable kitchen, like the one in Collina on the mountain is practiced takes into account the respective harvest seasons, which depend heavily on the climate. For guests this means: fresh and tasty food that comes directly from the region. When purchasing, it is recommended to pay attention to precise information about the origin in order to really get regional delicacies on your plate.
The Summer bistro Collina am Berg places a clear emphasis on the combination of respect for food and international influences. This means the focus remains clear: high-quality ingredients, sustainably prepared and served in an inviting atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!
