Illegal construction site in Vienna-Neubau: 11 tons of garbage cleared!

In Vienna-Neubau it was a sad reality: an illegal construction site run by an insolvent real estate developer not only visually burdened the neighborhood, but also created dangerous safety risks. How 5min.at reported that the construction site continued to operate despite the expired building permit. On the advice of the district administration, various authorities intervened to put an end to the bad practice.

The evacuation of the resistance was carried out by a collaboration of many experts, including the MA 25, the MA 37, the MA 46, the MA 48 as well as the financial police and the Vienna police. The result? Over 11 tons of illegally dumped construction site waste was removed, which not only benefits the environment but also ensures safer neighborhoods.

Safe construction sites for the neighborhood

MA 25 also lent a hand to the security measures. Here, damaged windows and entrances were secured to minimize the risks. Walter Hillerer, head of the immediate measures group, emphasized that open construction sites always pose a safety risk. Violations in this regard are not without consequences, which is also underlined by the performance of the financial police: They issued five reports on suspicion of wage and social dumping.

The fact that it had to come to this can only frustrate the residents. Such illegal construction sites not only damage the cityscape, they also cause unpleasant problems such as garbage and noise. This made this action by the authorities all the more important. According to ORF Vienna This is a clear appeal to all builders: the regulations are not simply there to be circumvented! Neither in the interest of the residents nor for the safety of everyone involved.

It's nice to see that the responsible authorities have shown a good hand here. In the future, we hope that such measures will be taken more often and that safety in Vienna's districts will be given top priority.
