After almost two decades, the Dorint Hotel Group is back on the Vienna market. From 2028, the “Dorint Hotel Weitblick Wien” with an impressive height of 120 meters and 35 floors will open its doors in the heart of the city. The new hotel, which is being built in collaboration with Strabag Real Estate GmbH, relies on sustainability and modern technologies and will have 298 rooms, including 28 long-stay units with kitchenettes. The Dorint Hotel Group was last active with two locations in Vienna until 2006 and is now daring to return after 19 years, as fvw.de reports.
The construction of the hotel is designed as a mixed-use project and will be part of the “viertel zwei” development district in Vienna’s second district. The rental agreement has a term of 30 years, which gives the Dorint Hotel Group the necessary stability for its new branch in Vienna. Construction work is scheduled to begin in January 2025, and the first foundation work is already visible. The hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2028, which increases the anticipation of the new gem in the Vienna hotel landscape, as hogapage.de adds.
Modern amenities and sustainable approach
The Dorint Hotel Weitblick Vienna should shine not only with its height, but also with its modern amenities. An all-day dining restaurant, a coffee bar, a shop area and eight event rooms are planned. Particularly noteworthy is the rooftop bar with a spacious 700 m² terrace on the 35th floor, which will offer a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of Vienna. But that's not all: the focus is clearly on sustainability. The building's energy center will use renewable resources and provide CO2-free heating and cooling, making the hotel a pioneer in ecological issues.
The Dorint Hotel Group committed itself to environmental responsibility early on. According to information from pregas.de, the most modern technologies are used to leave the lowest possible ecological footprint. By the end of 2023, only organically certified textiles should be used in hotels. What is particularly outstanding is the safe integration of Fairtrade products in the hotel chain's restaurants.
A step into the future
Dorint's return to Vienna is not only a happy event for the hotel industry, but also an important sign in the current times. More and more guests are attaching importance to environmental awareness and social responsibility. The Dorint Hotel Group wants to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 with its “Green Square Concept” and is thus setting standards in the industry.
