MHP Hotel AG acquires Hotel Savoyen Vienna: New splendor for Vienna!

An exciting chapter for the Viennese hotel landscape begins: The MHP Hotel AG has announced the takeover of the traditional Hotel Savoyen Vienna. From the beginning of 2027, the renowned hotel, which is located in the embassy district of Vienna and has 310 rooms, will be operated under the Sheraton brand. The anticipation of the modernization is great and promises a breath of fresh air for the historic building.

The Hotel Savoyen, which once housed the k.u.k. The building, which housed the court and state printing press and is located near Belvedere Palace, is being upgraded through the long-term agreement between Mechelgasse 1 GmbH, the current owner, and MHP Hotel AG. CEO Jörg Frehse emphasizes the increasing international demand and dynamic growth of tourism in Vienna, which proves promising for the hotel's future development.

An important location

The Hotel Savoyen offers an impressive 197 double rooms, 43 suites and 70 executive rooms. Particularly noteworthy is the central event hall with an area of around 1,000 square meters, which is one of the largest conference areas in the Vienna hotel industry. MHP Hotel AG, which is already successfully represented in the premium segment with its other properties, including MOOONS Vienna and Le Méridien Vienna, is expanding its portfolio with this acquisition and thus strengthening its presence in the city.

MHP currently runs eleven hotels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland under different brands. The financial details of the takeover of the Hotel Savoyen have not been made public, but the company expects sales of around 180 million euros for 2025. Operators are looking to the coming years with optimism, particularly because of the positive market developments.

Health and engagement

However, MHP Hotel AG is not only active in the accommodation sector; she also looks outside the box. This is reminiscent of the commitment of Major Health Partners, which has been providing comprehensive health care services in Indiana since 1924. With a focus on patient-centered care in smaller cities, the company is a pioneer in health promotion and offers, among other things, oncology, orthopedics and cardiology. Similar to MHP in the hospitality industry, Major Health Partners has a knack for promoting community well-being.

The developments surrounding the Hotel Savoyen show that Vienna is on a growth path not only in tourism, but also in healthcare. The coming months and years promise an exciting time for both industries, attracting both local and international players.
