East Tyrol's farmers start new online platform for direct marketing!
Nikolsdorf, Österreich - Something exciting in East Tyrol is happening: The new platform Gaumenfest.at offers Tiroler farmers the opportunity to take their products directly from Hof to market. This not only avoids the intermediate trade, but the companies can also keep 100% of their sales price. This should help to strengthen regional value creation and to ensure transparency in relation to the origin of the products.
The idea comes at a particularly favorable time. Around 30% of agricultural businesses in Tyrol, which are around 4,000 companies, are already relying on direct marketing. According to tirol.lko.at 1,500 companies generate a significant part of their income with it. The trend towards regionality, quality and transparency ensures increasing sales and even switching from the acquisition to the full work, which creates a positive mood among farmers.
support for the companies
The origin of the products and the fair price are of great importance, especially in today's world. The entire concept of Gaumenfest.at is funded by the federal government, the state of Tyrol and the EU. This support also includes a digital infrastructure that enables even small companies to get into online sales without major technical or financial hurdles.
Currently 16 companies have already been listed on the platform, whereby 14 of them come from East Tyrol. The view is promising: In the future, 150 subsidized companies from all over Tyrol should be represented at gaumenfest.at. Interested farmers can find out and register directly on the platform. The monthly contribution for the companies starts at a low 20 euros.
education and quality are in focus
like the LKO reports, the feedback from consumers is an additional drive for many direct marketers. Over 10% of the farmers plan to enter direct marketing if they receive the relevant information and the necessary training. For professional start, it is important to deal with hygienic requirements, food identification and other relevant topics.
Thanks to an extensive advisory and further training offer, farmers are supported at various levels. From production technology to legal questions - the consultations are diverse and designed to help the companies to secure food quality and successfully implement their concerns in direct marketing.
The chances for direct sales are good - not only in East Tyrol, but in all of Tyrol. At a time when regionality and fresh products are so popular, it can be seen that direct marketing is a sustainable option for many farmers.
