Discover Padua: The splendor of UNESCO frescoes and new app!
There's fresh news for culture lovers in the vibrant Italian city of Padua, known for its rich history and stunning frescoes. Since September, the eight UNESCO World Heritage sites under the title “Urbs Picta” have been accessible with a single ticket. This initiative aims to make visiting the city easier for locals and tourists alike. How meinkreis.at reported, visitors can choose between a 48-hour ticket for 28 euros and a 72-hour ticket for 35 euros. Both options offer unlimited access to the city's gems and allow use of public transport.
For the citizens of Padua there is even a special ticket for 25 euros, which is valid for six months. This allows one-time entry to each of the eight sights, but without using public transport. To make it easier to keep track of the 14th century fresco cycles, a brand new app called “Padova Urbs Picta” is available, which relies on interactive content and offers complete accessibility.
Discover the treasures of Padua
Padua is not only a place for impressive works of art, but also for important museums. For example, the Palazzo Zuckermann was converted into two museums: the Museo di Arti Applicate e Decorative and the Museo Bottacin. While the first museum displays over 2,000 objects from the Middle Ages, including glassware and jewelry, the Museo Bottacin houses private collections with works by well-known artists. With a combined ticket for both museums and the famous Scrovegni Chapel for 15 euros, Padua shows a good hand at making culture and art accessible to a wide audience.
A visit to the museums is possible from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. This is how culture comes alive in Padua - ideal for anyone who wants to experience the city's historical flair up close.
