Healthy Grätzel businesses: New start in the Stuwerviertel for well-being!
Vienna Health Promotion (WiG) is launching an exciting pilot project in the Stuwerviertel next September 18th, which is all about health in the workplace. Under the motto “Healthy Grätzel businesses”, a marketplace will be opened at the Vorgartenmarkt from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering those interested information and advice on healthy workplaces. Dennis Beck, managing director of WiG, emphasizes how important healthy jobs are for the quality of life in the district. Many residents and entrepreneurs in the 2nd district agree with this, because the initiative is intended not only to improve working conditions, but also to boost the networking of small businesses.
As meinkreis.at reports, the marketplace will have information stands and hands-on activities that revolve around health promotion. There are also healthy snacks, which are sure to be well received by visitors. Experts from partner organizations such as “AUVAsicher”, “fit2work” and the Austrian Network for Workplace Health Promotion are available to those interested to answer questions and provide advice.
Benefits for everyone involved
The project has many facets. It's not just about strengthening the health of employees, but also about promoting small businesses as vibrant spots for the neighborhood. The idea is to improve the quality of life and network local businesses. The needs of the companies are determined through a survey so that tailor-made offers can be created. These range from workshops and training courses to advisory services and financial support for innovative ideas for health promotion.
Small companies that value health not only become more attractive to new employees, but also increase the well-being of their employees, which ultimately benefits the success of the company. “If the location and atmosphere are right, people meet here and that strengthens the neighborhood,” explains Beck.
In the focus of company health promotion
The Federal Ministry of Health points out that health-promoting measures should be part of a structured process in the company that is based on the analysis of the health situation. Stress management, work that promotes exercise and healthy eating are just a few examples of measures that are supported as part of the project.
Participation in the marketplace is free and possible without registration - a big plus for anyone who wants to find out about the health offers in the Stuwerviertel. But despite the many challenges, there will also be exciting events in Leopoldstadt in the coming weeks, such as the opening festival of the Sport Arena Vienna, the family festival of the Vienna Red Cross in the Prater and the Vienna Housing Day in Rudolf Bednar Park.
All of these initiatives make it clear once again: Health is important in Vienna and everything is done to ensure that the businesses in the districts remain strong not only economically, but also in terms of health.
