New Sheraton Hotel Vienna: Modernization next to Belvedere Palace!

The Hotel Savoyen Vienna, a well-known conference hotel in the heart of Vienna, will be converted into a Sheraton. This project is being carried out by the MHP Hotel AG, an established operator in the premium segment. The official opening of the new Sheraton Vienna is planned for early 2027.

The Savoy is located in close proximity to the impressive Belvedere Palace, nestled in the city's picturesque embassy district. With a total of 310 rooms, including 197 double rooms, 43 suites and 70 executive rooms, a lively influx of international guests and event organizers is expected.

A modern concept for a historic site

The architecture of the new Sheraton Vienna will represent a successful mix of traditional Viennese architecture and modern comfort. The interior design is done by the renowned BWM Designers & Architects from Vienna, whereby the collaboration with IBCOL Real Estate also ensures the implementation of the interior design. With an event hall measuring more than 1,000 m², the hotel offers one of the largest conference areas in Vienna and aims to specifically attract international congresses and business events.

The conversion step was secured with a franchise agreement with the renowned hotel brand Marriott, which gives MHP Hotel AG the opportunity to further expand its expertise. “We see great potential in the repositioning of this historic hotel,” say company circles.

A strong portfolio in Vienna

MHP Hotel AG is already active in Vienna, runs the lifestyle hotel MOOONS and the Le Méridien Vienna on the Opernring and therefore plays an important role in the Vienna hotel market. This change will also boost the company's sales, which are estimated at around 180 million euros for the current financial year.

The Hotel Savoyen is currently run by Verkehrsbüro Hospitality under the Austria Trend Hotels brand before MHP Hotel AG takes over operations. The takeover and conversion of the hotel is seen as strategically valuable for further expansion in the Austrian capital.

With this reorientation, MHP Hotel AG will not only consolidate its position in the premium segment, but also help to further diversify and upgrade the range of hotels in Vienna. The new Sheraton Vienna is likely to be a popular address for travelers and tour operators who are looking for something special. As in a new city district of innovation and tradition, the hotel combines the demands of a modern and international clientele with its range of comfort and service.
