Balloon worlds: Gigantic works of art conquer Vienna!

A new, exciting exhibition comes to Vienna! From June 27, 2025, the "balloon worlds" will be admired in the Stage 3 , in Lilienthalgasse 6, 1030 Vienna. This extraordinary show, which remains open until August 24, promises a real festival for the senses. Persons interested in art can dive between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. every day, with the last admission at 6 p.m.

What exactly can visit visitors? The exhibition consists of 95 percent air and uses over 500,000 colorful, natural and compostable balloons. The renowned balloon artist Guido Verhoef has created impressive sculptures worldwide in collaboration with hundreds of balloon artists. The highlights include replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Wiener Hofburg from Europe, the Pyramids and the Sphinx from Africa, as well as the classic VW bus and kangaroos from Australia. A special creativity is also shown in the American Diner, which is decorated with animal figures.

creativity in the air

The exhibition is realized by around 60 international balloon art, with some of the impressive sculptures up to 8 meters high. The artists are supported by around 100 volunteers who ensure a smooth process. In addition to looking at the impressive works, visitors can become active: A workshop for designing simple balloon animals offers the opportunity to become creative yourself.

Another highlight is the white balloon wall where guests can immortalize themselves-fun for young and old. Sustainability is also a central concern, since all balloons consist of 100 percent compostable natural latex and the use of materials is minimized. "We create the exhibition in such a way that in the end we only leave about ten garbage bags from balloon residues," explains Verhoef.

A look over the borders

The Ballonmuseum in Berlin has organized about four million visitors through interactive experiences and creative installations. The opening of the "Pop Air" exhibition at Arena Berlin has created a lively ambience for inflatable art and shows that interest in this art form is growing. Workshops and events complement the offer, which promotes the exchange of ideas and creativity.

For all art and balloon fans in Vienna, the "balloon worlds" are an absolute must. Not only are looking at it, but also actively experienced and designed. A complete success for the artists and great fun for the visitors!
