Anniversary VOGELFREI: Culinary meets art in Augarten Vienna!
Something is happening in Vienna: From November 14th to December 21st, 2025, taubenkobel is presenting an exciting pop-up restaurant in Atelier Augarten. This special event is called “VOGELFREI” and is a homage to the tenth anniversary of the founders Barbara Eselböck and Alain Weissgerber. How courier reports, the concept combines art and cuisine in a unique way. The historic place, where the sculptor Gustinus Ambrosi once worked, becomes the setting for a culinary adventure.
The course of the evening? You can enjoy the delicacies from Monday to Saturday from 6 p.m. There are two culinary concepts to choose from in the menu: “Hochflug” for 220 euros, which delights with fine craftsmanship and sophisticated ideas, and the lighter variant “Zwitscherflug” for 120 euros, which is available from Monday to Wednesday. These offers offer both culinary delights and an exciting atmosphere.
Art and cuisine combined
“VOGELFREI” promises an unforgettable experience in one of the city’s most valued art venues. The idea behind the pop-up concept, which has been repeated since 2015 with changing mottos and special locations, appeals not only to gourmets, but also to art lovers. The relaxed atmosphere allows guests to enjoy the high cuisine in a playful way.
The combination of food and art not only offers guests new taste experiences, but also the opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative world of Eselböck and Weissgerber. To add even more depth to the culinary experience, the menu will be designed as a tribute to the past ten years of culinary independence.
A place in Viennese cuisine
The decision for Atelier Augarten was not made by chance. In this historical setting, the history of Viennese gastronomy comes to life and guests can look forward to a special atmosphere. The combination of artfully presented dishes in a location steeped in history not only builds anticipation for the pop-up, but also appeals to a wide audience—from locals to tourists.
With “VOGELFREI” the taubenkobel sets new standards in Viennese gastronomy and shows once again that good food and art can go hand in hand. So if you are looking for a special experience, you should mark this period in your calendar.
